Why I Wrote Flame of the Spirit
Over the years, I've watched many believers faithfully attend church, serve in ministry, and pursue God, yet still sense that something is missing. We've become surrounded by activity, information, and programs, but many are longing for a deeper encounter with the presence and power of God.
Flame of the Spirit was born out of a burden to see the Church return to its biblical foundation: a life empowered by the Holy Spirit. This book is a call to rediscover the fire that marked the Early Church... a fire fueled by prayer, bold faith, genuine worship, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
My prayer is that this book will awaken spiritual hunger, stir fresh passion for God, and remind believers that the Holy Spirit is not merely a doctrine to study, but the very presence of God who empowers us to live,
serve, and transform the world around us.
Because I believe there is more.
More of His presence.
More of His power.
More of His Spirit available to every believer.
About the Author
Derek is an apostolic and prophetic voice to this generation, carrying a deep passion for revival and reformation in the nations. Known as a “firestarter” around the world, his ministry is marked by miracles, healings, and powerful demonstrations of the Holy Spirit and His gifts.

The late German Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke used to say to us, “If you keep the fire burning, the fire will keep you burning”. Fire has a sell-by date. You must fan it and you must feed it or it will die. This is my 36th year in full-time ministry and in all these years, I have never seen a pastor who’s "on fire" pastor a dead church. If the pastor is on fire, the church will be on fire. If the pastor is dead, then church is dead. If the pastor is on fire, there are only 2 things you can do- either get on FIRE or fire the pastor.
